How long should I stay in Strasbourg region?
Well, the answer to this question depends on your personal preferences and the activities you plan to undertake while in Strasbourg ;)
To truly immerse yourself in the city's culture, good restaurants and main attractions (La Petite France, European Parliament, the Cathedral, ...), I recommend allocating around three to four days on site.
Then, the duration of your stay depends on whether or not you plan to discover optional other cities or attractions nearby:
- Experience life as a local: why not go beyond the typical tourist attractions and stay two extra days in Strasbourg? Start by visiting the municipal baths, known as "Les Bains Municipaux" and venturing into the city's vibrant bar scene and mingle with Strasbourgeois residents. Consider also renting a bike!
- Culinary experiences: Strasbourg is known for its excellent food and wine. If you're a food lover, you might want to extend your stay to eat in the best restaurants in the city - one extra day to eat lunch and dinner should be enough.
- Day trips in Alsace from Strasbourg: Strasbourg is well-connected to other picturesque cities in the Alsace region, such as La Route des Vins, Colmar, Riquewihr or beautiful castles around. If you plan to take day trips to nearby destinations, you might want to add one extra day or two to your itinerary.
