1. Enjoy "Strasbourg mon Amour" event in 2024
February, Strasbourg is celebrating Valentine's Day with an original event: "Strasbourg, mon amour". From 9 to 18 February 2024, a host of romantic activities and outings will be on offer for lovers. The highlight of the event will be the 24h of Love at the Aubette. Find the full programme here. If you plan on exploring the city in February, you should really come check this event!
2. Stroll hand in hand through Petite France
With its canals and half-timbered houses, the picturesque district of Petite France is the ideal place for a romantic walk in Strasbourg. Let yourself stroll along the quays to discover this charming district that almost looks like Venice.
I recommend you to go to the terrace of the Vauban dam where you can admire the cathedral with a nice view. On your way, stop at the Maison des Ponts Couverts for a nice souvenir photo in front of the wisteria in bloom.
3. Hanging a love lock on the Passerelle de l'Abreuvoir
Love locks have become a tradition for many couples around the world. Each city has its own place, usually a bridge, where couples come to hang a padlock on which they paint or engrave their initials.
In Strasbourg, lovers go near the Palais Rohan, on the pretty little bridge of the Abreuvoir. It's 250 meters away from the cathedral!
4. Lighting a candle in the cathedral of Strasbourg
Strasbourg's Notre Dame Cathedral's a popular romantic place for all couples on a romantic getaway to the city. Come and discover this magnificent monument, "a prodigy of the gigantic and the delicate" as Victor Hugo said, with its unique spire that reaches 142 meters high, its majestic rose window, its pillar of angels and its façade made of pink Vosges sandstone decorated with countless details.
During your visit to the cathedral, don't forget to light a candle and make a wish for the future with your lover. You should also climb the 330 steps to the platform for a breathtaking view of the entire city!
5. Taking a romantic walk in the Parc de l'Orangerie
The Parc de l'Orangerie is certainly the most beautiful park in Strasbourg. It's very appreciated by lovers who come to walk hand in hand in the alleys bordering the French gardens and the rosebushes. The kiosk is even the most popular place for wedding photos...and proposals!
The park is ideal for a romantic picnic, to lie down in the grass and to enjoy watching beautiful storks. Don't hesitate to go for a boat ride on the large lake.
6. Relaxing at the Bains Municipaux de Strasbourg
The Strasbourg Municipal Baths offer a complete relaxation experience in a beautiful historic building that has recently been refurbished. Enjoy the wellness place with a spa area, two saunas, a salt grotto and a hot tub. Then take a walk outside to the Nordic pool and its breathtaking view on the Strasbourg cathedral.
If you are looking for something more unusual, Strasbourg has the first beer spa! It is located near the place de l'Homme de Fer.
7. Taking a ride on an electric boat
Just like Venice, Strasbourg is a city of water. But don't look for a gondola here, there are none. Instead, we have small electric boats that you can rent by the hour and follow one of the proposed itineraries. Captain Bretzel even offers a special "Wedding Proposal" package with skipper, specially decorated VIP boat, champagne and appetizers. This cruise will take you to the beautiful Orthodox Church.

8. Eating out in a romantic restaurant
Strasbourg's a city known for its gastronomy, with a wide variety of restaurants, from fast food to gourmet restaurants to tarts flambées. If you are looking for a romantic dinner for two, I recommend the Blue Flamingo restaurant.
This restaurant, located on a boat in front of Rivétoile district, offers an original view on the city. We disconnect and enjoy. The menu is relatively short and made with good fresh products. The value for money is very good, with a formula starter-main course or main course-dessert at 19 euros at lunchtime. In summer, the terrace on the roof of the boat is an ideal place to have a drink with some music in the background. Besides, service there is great!
9. Tasting the Kamasutra chocolate from Bockel
Want to spice up your weekend a bit? Go to Jacques Bockel's chocolate store in the Rue du Vieux-Marché-aux-Poissons. The Alsatian chocolate maker has created a collection of chocolates around 8 erotic and naughty Saynètes inspired by the famous Indian collection "le Kamasutra". After all, chocolate is known for its aphrodisiac properties...
10. Spend the night in a romantic hotel
Here are my best 4 romantic hotels in Strasbourg.
Hotel de la Cour du Corbeau ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hôtel Cour du Corbeau's a beautiful hotel located in the city center at the entrance of the Grande Île, 2 steps away from the cathedral. It's one of the oldest hotels in Europe and has known famous guests such as Voltaire, Alexandre Dumas or Frederic the Great. In this magnificent Renaissance building, the rooms bear the marks and names of their famous guests.
Hotel and Spa Régent Petite France ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Located in the heart of the Petite France district, the Hotel Régent offers an exceptional and luxurious setting with a view of the Ill River. For the anecdote: this luxury hotel with Spa was built in the place of the old ice houses of Strasbourg of which you can still see some traces of the machines in the hall of the entrance.
Hotel Léonor ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A former mansion in the center of Strasbourg, the Hotel Léonor opened its doors in 2021, just a stone's throw from Place Broglie, after extensive renovations. If the majestic facade has been preserved, the interior has been transformed into a magnificent 4-star hotel with 116 comfortable rooms and suites with a refined decoration. The bar is very nice, in a relaxed atmosphere and with beautiful local products.
Hotel Les Haras ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Located a little away from the hustle and bustle of Petite France and the Cathedral, Hôtel Les Haras was built in the magnificent setting of the former National Stud. The rooms are elegant, refined and comfortable, made with natural materials like wood and leather. And if you want to take a dip, the indoor pool should please you! The brasserie next door is a great place to eat. Guest reviews are very positive!
